Mediaocean, the foundational software provider for the advertising world, and IBM Blockchain, the leading enterprise blockchain provider, today announced at CES the go-live of the blockchain consortium pilot for the media supply chain. The blockchain solution is currently live with nearly two-dozen participants including brands, agencies, and technology partners.
Since the announcement of the blockchain partnership at the Cannes Lions Festival last June, Mediaocean has been working with participants to build a solution to support industry processes and provide critical transparency. Smart contract protocols were also implemented to endorse the blockchain solution, which will centralize media and finance transactions including budget, authorization, orders, verification, invoices, and payments.
Over the upcoming months, participants will enable campaigns and monitor transactions in the blockchain. In addition to becoming the foundational infrastructure to an ongoing industry challenge, the solution will streamline master data, provide workflow visibility from approved budget to final payments, and house a consolidated audit journal of all transactions.
Mediaocean and IBM will continue to socialize blockchain by combining complementary offerings, and incorporate the solution into industry standards.
