Cookies and similar technologies on our corporate website and support sites
Our web sites may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to automatically collect certain information about your use of our website in order to deliver a better and more personalized service. This information may include your IP address, device identifier, advertising identifier, your browser type and version, information about the operating system on your computer or device, the length of your visit, and the pages that you viewed on our website.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that a website or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive, tablet, or mobile device through your web browser. They allow the website operator or service provider to recognize your browser and collect certain information such as preferences.
For more information, please see http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
Similar technologies
We also employ other technologies including tracking pixel tags and code snippets that interact with external services to record behaviors.
- Pixels, also known as “tags”, “web beacons” or “clear GIFs”, are pieces of code or small electronic images (1×1), that are ordinarily not visible to website visitors and email recipients and may be associated with cookies on the visitors’ browser or device. Pixel tags allow us to count users who have visited certain pages of the Site, to deliver branded services, to provide online advertising, and to help determine the effectiveness of promotional or advertising campaigns.
- Tracking URLs, also known as “tracking links”, are commonly used to track the performance of marketing and advertising campaigns across websites and engagement channels. For example, if an individual clicks-through a link in an email message, they would be redirected through a specific link to the website content designated from the email.
- Local storage objects and log files enable websites to store and retrieve data in a browser on a device. When used in “local storage” mode, the browser or device enables data to be stored across sessions (for example, so that the data are retrievable even after the browser has been closed and reopened). One technology that facilitates web storage is HTML5.
